A New year (really?)

Or just another spin on the hamster wheel

It’s a NEW YEAR here we are. Another trip around the sun again.

Am I looking forward to 2024. Not sure. I couldn’t say 2023 been great for me, but I sure hope it’s been a great one for you -

All 52 weeks or 365 days or 8760 hours or 31.5m seconds of it.

I sit here hoping that 2024 will be better for all of us. That everyone will look out for each other and that everyone will get what they work for and desire, but of course we know that’s not true.

We know that. Every year we hope but we really know.

Hear me out.

The truth is people won’t commit to resolutions, things will go wrong. By the 3rd of January people will use go back to hurting each other again for whatever reasons and we’ll be back on the hamster wheel until we wish it all away again for 2025, if we last that long.

SO…. What I will say is this. TRY.

Try to be better. Try to not make the same mistakes you made. Try to forgive, to let it go, to take a breath. Try to not hurt people with intent. Try to help others. Try to treat people in a way you’d love to be treated.

Now you’re not always gonna get these things right. You just won’t, and neither will others. Nobody does and that’s okay. But if we all try then at least we’re coming from the right place.

So take this into the new year.

Stop hoping and wishing. Just try/do and be better. Each second, minute, hour, day and week. And before you know it, you’ll have had a great 2024.
